What it’s all about
I am currently in my fourth year of university and am working on my senior project.
I have had this idea as soon as the foundation was launched. I want to create a workshop or series of workshops that are based around the ideas of the Born This Way Foundation.

I want to make a program that can be picked up by various community centres to combat bullying, but not in the typical way we view it. I don’t want to market my program as an Anti-Bullying program, because quite frankly kids will laugh at it. I want it to be an empowerment workshop, a experiment in the defender if you will.
My idea is to make it interdisciplinary in the arts. Because I am a dance major I have connections to so many amazing performers both in my field and in the other art forms. I want to utilize those connections by bringing them in and having them work with the kids to empower them, and make them feel like they can createamazing things.
Those who know what the Born This Way Foundation stand for know that it’s not about helping one person, it’s about helping everyone through one person. If you can look at any other human being and tell them that they are amazing, they will feel amazing, and that is how we are going to kick bullying in the gonads.
Here’s to making a difference, one step at a time.
